I Have heard only good things about JBL but have not had the chance to use one myslef. I have been Using a friends 40″ AB Biller. Allthough I have no problems with it I would like a JBL. I am looking at the Elite sawed-off Magnum, and the Elite woody sawed-off Magnum. I am looking for somethin around the 20' range and with two bands. I Mostly scuba, but am starting to get into freediving. Is there an advantage to one over the other, and would one of these two guns be a good choice? Thanks for the advise.
The new wood guns are doing very well. If you are doing mostly scuba you might lean towards the closed muzzel or original series due to the fact you would be able to set up your gun for “freeshafting”. The sawed off series seems to be the most popular size in our selection at 52″. Remember we measure our guns from butt to tip. The “elite” series is also very popular for the freedivers because of the ease of loading. It really comes down to what you like. There is not necessarily a advantage of one over the other as much as personal preference. I hope this helps and if you do get the “woody” or any other JBL Speargun send in your picture with the gun and your fish and we will add you to “Team JBL”.
Thank you for the advise. I like to style of the new rail gun look. Is it true that they flex when loaded and cause some deflection when shot? Not to much for freeshafting, don't like the risk of loising any equipment. Also i was looking what is the main diffrence betewn the Elite sawed-off magnum and the sawed off magnum? Also you stated that the Elite sawed-off magnum was easy to load, what makes it easer compaired to other models? Thank you again your your help and advise.

If I'm not mistaken the elite sawed off magnum uses two 5/8″ bands while the sawed off magnum uses three of the one step under.
I have the woody sawed off magnum and it's now my favored gun. I use it off shore, in shore, free diving, and scuba. The only thing I would change about it would be to put an open muzzle on it, if it had that then it would be utterly perfect.
I am leaning towards the Elite Sawed-off magnum myself. I think it comes with an open muzzle. Alltho I have heard some of the newer non wood style guns flex when loaded and cause a slight deflection when shot, no one seems to be able to tell me much more or confirm or deny that. Why do you perfer the open over the closed muzzle, to what advantage does it give you. Thanks again for the advise, just don't want to buy the wrong gun.
