The gold standard in polespears, our one-piece models are drawn 6063, annealed for extra rigidity. The end result: maximum energy transfer with virtually no flex. We machine-swaged each spear for enhanced hydrodynamics. This provides greater speed with minimal water disruption.
Travel polespear (two and three piece) feature precision machined unions for seamless fit and feel and allow for infinite extendability. Sling length is fully adjustable and the stainless threaded tip will accept any 6mm (7 if specified) point.

Jason Sibray says:
I was wondering the price on the six and five foot pole spears. I am a beginning fisherman and actually do not know if those would be the right size. But I am six foot three so I bet I assumed correct. Thanks for the prices.
JBL Hunter says:
Jason,
Where are you located and we can give you the closest retailer to you for prices. The five and six foot polespears are very popular and would work very well for your size.

Can another tip besides the paralyzer be put onto the pole spears. If so, what do you recommend?
thanks
ben says:
What size threading is the D72? 6mm or 7mm? I just bought the D72 & a 845-6 paralyzer tip from Sport Chalet for a weekend trip and the threads in the tip are too big for the threads on the spear. What’s the deal here?
JBL Hunter says:
Ben,
The threads are 6mm. Is the paralyzer that you received a 7mm? Thats the only two we carry are 6mm and 7mm. That doesn’t sound right. Take it back and have them look at it and get you the right stuff.
JBL Hunter says:
Bill,
Yes you can put any 6mm tip on the polespears.

2 questions.
I’m the proud new owner of a 6′ JBL fixed pole spear. I got it to shoot Carp, silver carp and Gar (I live deep inland) from my kayak. Should I still flood the spear? Most areas are low visability and my prey comes into real shallow water. I can wade to them. I MAY try SOME snorkeling. My fear honestly is the low vis murky water. Just creeps me out. I back it up logically with arguments like not enought visibility to be worth it and possible fishing line entanglements while under. But it’s just the creepy murky water.
2nd question: My prey is nearly armored (Gar need metal sheers to clean them, then it’s bone free fillets with Shark meat texture). Which tip is best to blast through them and engage a barb. The carp in the area get HUGE. No paralyzers.
Thanks,
Scott

Do the extensions fit in the one piece polespears?
Could I make my 6′ an 8′ –> 12′ ? do Iunderstand this correctly?
thanks,
Scott
Scott Haynie says:
Hi,
I took a shot today at an asian carp. Hit it in the head and bent the shaft of my JBL 6′ fixed spear. I used the fork of a tree to straighten the shaft and continue fishing for the day. I then did it again butt he bend was not as bad. The aluminum will be weak here after a few bendings and straightening.
How can I fix this? I’m thinking of straightening it again and then filling the first several inches with a hard epoxy.
Will this work well?
